Mitchell Pearce, DC, MS, LAc, DACBN

Dr. Mitchell Pearce has been a chiropractor since 1982 and licensed acupuncturist since 1992. He is a diplomate of the American Clinical Board of Nutrition, the only federally recognized certification body for nutritionists holding doctoral degrees in Medicine, Osteopathy, and Chiropractic. He is certified in drug and alcohol studies by the University of California and is a registered National Acupuncture Detoxification Association acudetox specialist.  He is a graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic West and the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He completed his Chinese medical internship at the Chengdu University of Traditional Medicine — one of the top five such institutions in China. In addition to 25 years in practice, Dr. Pearce has taught for numerous chiropractic and acupuncture colleges in the fields of diagnosis, orthopedics, neurology, pediatrics, radiology, ethics, research methodology, and anatomy.  He has taught many post-doctoral continuing education and relicensing courses to physicians, chiropractors, acupuncturists, and nurses in three states and in China.  As director of research and legislative affairs for the American Chiropractic Association Council on Nutrition, he was a co-author of the council’s position paper on infant formula labeling to the FDA. He was the first acupuncturist and second chiropractor to be appointed to teach worker’s compensation examination and reporting procedures for the California Department of Industrial Relations. Dr. Pearce is also a certified paralegal.

Currently, Dr. Pearce maintains a private practice called Acupuncture, Chiropractic & Nutrition Service at 1591 Williamsport Drive, San Jose, California. In addition, he consults to attorneys specializing in defending doctors against licensing accusations and in malpractice litigation.
